Brilliant uncirculated 1882-CC GSA Morgan Silver Dollar
Brilliant uncirculated 1882-CC Morgan silver dollar struck in 90% silver from Nevada’s legendary Comstock Lode. This rich mine led to establishment of the short-lived, nearby Carson City Mint, and to the striking of Morgan dollars. Many ended up in U.S. Treasury vaults until the 1970’s.
President Richard Nixon signed a law authorizing the General Services Administration (GSA) to seal the nicest Uncirculated coins in special GSA holders and sell them to the public.
