Product Description
Brilliant uncirculated with original rainbow toning. 1884 CC Morgan Silver Dollar GSA NGC MS64 with original box and COA.
1884-CC Morgan silver dollar struck in 90% silver from Nevada’s legendary Comstock Lode. This rich mine led to establishment of the short-lived, nearby Carson City Mint, and to the striking of Morgan dollars. Like all Carson City Morgans, production of the 1884-CC’s was very small compared to other mints. Still, many ended up in U.S. Treasury vaults until the 1970’s.
President Richard Nixon signed a law authorizing the General Services Administration (GSA) to seal the nicest Uncirculated coins in special GSA holders and sell them to the public.
